Travel to Mexico City

Welcome to Mexico City! We are thrilled that you will be joining us for our wedding celebration. To ensure your trip is smooth and enjoyable, here's a quick guide for travelers coming from abroad:

Transportation

We strongly recommend using Uber instead of taxis, as they are generally safer and more reliable. Uber is also the easiest way to get from the airport to your hotel or airbnb. Finally, Uber is more convenient than renting a car, given limited parking spaces in the city (and heavy traffic!).

Money

Credit cards are widely accepted, but you may want to have some cash on hand for smaller purchases. You can withdraw directly from ATMs throughout the city (preferred method) or exchange Mexican pesos at the airport. Tipping 15% in restaurants is customary. It’s also common to tip hotel staff, parking attendants, makeup/hair artists, and other service providers.

health and water

Tap water in Mexico City isn’t safe to drink, so it’s best to stick to bottled or filtered water. The street food is amazing, but if you're not used to it, dining at restaurants can help you avoid any stomach discomfort.

Safety

Polanco, Roma, Condesa, and the historic center are wonderful, walkable neighborhoods to explore. Like in any major city, it's a good idea to stay aware of your surroundings, especially at night.

Accommodations

There are many great hotels and vacation rentals in Mexico City. For convenient access to the wedding venue, we recommend staying in the neighborhoods of Polanco, La Condesa, and Roma Norte.
While we suggest using Airbnb for a unique experience, here are some hotel recommendations:
Camino Real Polanco
JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Polanco
InterContinental Presidente
Hyatt Regency Mexico City
W Mexico City
Grand Fiesta Americana Chapultepec
Casa Polanco
The Alest Hotel
We hope this guide helps you plan your trip to Mexico City and enjoy all this amazing city has to offer. If you have any questions or need further recommendations, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
